Netflow
Netflow is a technology that provides the ability to monitor how computer network resources are used over time. Typically, network infrastructure components such as switches and routers collect information, such as source and destination IP addresses, number of packets, number of bytes and protocol, on the network traffic that passes through them. This information is then sent periodically to a collection device (or devices) that stores and provides the ability to investigate and generate reports on this data. This Netflow Reporting provides enterprises with the information that allows them to monitor and understand how their computer networks are being used over time, which is essential for troubleshooting network problems, including misconfiguration, over-utilization, and security issues. Additionally, it plays a vital role in identifying and planning for current and future network infrastructure requirements.
